Hello everyone, I just got my rabbit a HUGE new cage! Since it has a wire grid flooring I put some fleece down and his litter box in a corner, he had a small accident on his fleece and I just wiped down the area with some soap and water and rinsed it again while I wait for it to dry. Is this better than throwing the entire thing in the wash since it was only a small spot on the fleece? Or to be safe should I just throw it all in? Should I wash it everyday also just in case of accidents?

I would suggest lining that wire floor with cardboard of some other flooring. I wash the rugs if there is pee on it, but I have stocked up so I can switch them out. i suppose if it is tiny spot and dries it would be okay ?

I put puppy pee pads under the fleece. While Guin was going through her Must Pee on the Fleece stage, wasn’t going to wash that huge (4×4) fleece every day. So I washed it once a week and changed out the puppy pee pads as needed. On the 2nd and 3rd level of the condo, they have cardboard under the pee pad. They haven’t peed up there in a while so I don’t have pee pads there – only on the ground. Somehow – putting a litter box on the 4rd level, stopped that peeing. They peed in the litter box once or twice, and now only use it as a sleeping/relaxing spot. And no more pee on the 4rd level fleece. The cardboard is easy to replace.
