Hi all. I am very new to this so please bare with me. I homed my first house rabbit Khaleesi a couple of months ago and she was fantastic straight away used her litter tray and never pooed anywhere else she has full reign of my large front room. Since me and my partner both work full time we have decided to adopt a male neutered rabbit to be a friend. He currently is in a cage in the front room as he has only lived with us two days. His name is Lando. Khaleesi lays down next to his cage and they touch noses through the bars and she bites at the bars of the cage. Is this a good sign how long should i leave it till i get them out together? I have read the first meeting needs to be in a neutral place? Lando is much more nervous around us humans doesnt like being stroked however seems at conplete ease with Khaleesi. Any help you can all give me would be fab.

You should get Khaleesi spayed and healed first before you attempt any real bonding. Otherwise she’ll probably get feelings of love for her new boyfriend and may pester him for sex, and since he can’t comply, it is likely to result in aggression and fighting. Rabbits can fight something terrible.

If she is spayed, I think you could start introducing them very soon. In a neutral space. Short sessions. Wear gloves. You might also need a metal sieve to put between them if there is biting. Read this first: http://www.rabbitnetwork.org/articles/bond.shtml so you know what to expect.

There are more links on our Resources-page, under Bonding: https://binkybunny.com/RESOURCES/tabid/67/Default.aspx

And please ask all questions you come to think of, we’ll try and help as best we can!
