My mom said my rabbit isn’t allowed in my room anymore. He had mites and the mites got on to me, it made a little spot and it’s itchy. It’s spreading a bit but the medicine is healing it. She said he isn’t allowed in my room anymore because of it. Is there anyway I could convince her to let him back in? She said he could play downstairs but it isnt bunny proof. She isn’t letting me bunny proof the living room, so if I let him downstairs I would have to keep watchig him, but I do homework when I take him upstairs so there’s no way for me to let him play downstairs.

Where will his home be setup? Can you bunny proud the area where his home base is and make a comfy study/hangout area there for you to hang out in too?

Was he treated for the mites?

If you get treatment for your bun, with Revolution (selamectin) or Ivermectin, the mites will die. You then do a repeat treatment a few weeks later. If you clean your room very carefully, the mites are not likely to return.

I can understand that your mum is upset, nobody wants her child to get mites. They don’t pose any serious threat to your health though. Here is a link with information about fur mites in rabbits and how they can affect humans, you could perhaps ask your mum to have a look at it, it might make her less digusted:

I think if your bun is treated for mites, your mum might be willing to allow your bunny to stay in your room. =)

I’ve only ever tried Revolution and it works great at killing and preventing fleas. I’ve never had mite trouble, but it’s supposed to work on them too.
