My rabbit Tchaikovsky was spayed today. I’ve observed a few things that I’m not sure are normal.

First, she’s making little whimpering or honking noises every once in a while. I understand she may be in pain, but she isn’t grinding her teeth or anything and it’s only occasional.

Second, she’s drinking plenty of water (even though she continuously steps in the bowl and knocks it over) but hasn’t eaten anything (this is about 4 hours after I brought her home). I tried timothy hay, pellets, treats she likes, and banana and apple.

Third, she hasn’t seemed to nap or doze off at all. She usually at least closes her eyes for a little bit every few hours. This may be due to her not being able to lay comfortably because she’s sore?

        Thanks in advance!

My rabbit just had a spay today too! I just made a “Help Me!” post too! lol That’s good she is drinking water. Mine hasn’t for about 14 hours. My rabbit is also refusing food but she ate 5 raisins. My bun wont go potty. It’s been at least 14 hours since she has as well… Is your bunny going potty? Is the honking noise kinda loud? almost sounds like a howl? I’ve seen that before, I think that means they are in pain but I’m not 100% sure so don’t freak out… I know one rabbit did that just cause they missed mommy… Have you given your bunny a metacam dose yet?
