Forum BEHAVIOR Bunny grunt or whine?

        He really sounds sort of like a bee. He really only does it when he’s moving around, but since it is not something that happens all the time I do not think it is a respiratory thing.

        Is he just whining or grunting really low? Why does he do it so much? I don’t think he is scared of me because he follows me around my house already. I just don’t know what it means!

          It’s really difficult to say. We would really appreciate it if you could get a video of him making the sound. I have never heard a bunny that sounds like a bee. The noises bunnies make more or less have to be interpreted in the context where they occur. If the bun is acting happy, it’s a happy sound. If the bunny is hunched up and looks uncomfortable, it’s a sound of discontent. Some buns are more vocal than others. Some honk, some grunt or growl, I’ve one that makes a twittering sound when he gets something extra yummy to eat.

          If he makes a sound and follows you around the house, he might be courting you. How old is he?
