        Hi!

So I love wheat grass. It’s cheap and quick to grow and so pleasant to look at! (am I the only one who enjoys the sight of fresh green grass in the morning light??)

Anyway, I was wondering if it is okay to grow a tray to keep in my bunnies cage for grazing, like hay. I was thinking it would be nice, along with an unlimited supply of hay, to add to my bunnies diet and keep her interested. (She loves to dig and play with it too!) Is it healthy for a bunny to eat wheat grass to her hearts content? Or is it fattening? Over nutritious? Easily digestible? Safe?

        Would like to know!

I do know it can cause tummy problems with some buns. Oliver loves the stuff but will choose that over his hay whenever possible and if he has too much he gets mushy poop. So I do know you’ll want to watch out for that.

My dad grows wheatgrass for my bunny Moshu. I feed it to her once or twice a week, depending upon the availability. I don’t think there is possibly any demerit of feeding your bun wheatgrass. None that I know, at least. From what I know, it’s one of the most nutritious grasses. I am not sure how well they will grow in winters, but I am planning to grow 2-3 more trays once spring arrives (currently we have only 2).

And I too love the sight of fresh green wheat grass; it looks so refreshing

Oh good! Well I live in Hawaii so winter won’t affect the growth of mine very much! I’m excited to start growing more batches then, It isn’t expensive at all and so easy! Perfect!
Can you grow it inside? I’m sure you can still grow some for your Moshu in winter!
