We barely adopted an adorable 5 month baby boy named Harlow. I’m going to attempt to start potty training him even though he has a couple more weeks before he’s nuetered. We have a cage and an X pen for him. We noticed that he decided to pee in the exact opposite corner of where his litter box is. He potties under a platform so it would involve moving his platform, his hay bin, and water just to put his litter box in his potty corner. Is it worth it to rearrange his cage to put his litter box there? I don’t want to cause him any stress or make him feel like I invaded his space. Also, as long as he potties in his litter box outside the cage (which he doesn’t yet) I don’t mind cleaning up the potty in the cage. Would it be too confusing for him to have to potty in the litter box outside the cage, but not have to inside? He’s my first little bun and I just want to make litter training easy for the both of us?!

you could move his litter box to that corner and maybe keep the platform over the litterbox if it turns out that he just likes to pee/poo under the platform. Do you put his hay near his litter box?

My friends rabbits are pretty good at not pooping outside their cage, but once inside they sprinkle some poops here and there but keep most of it in the litterbox.

That’s an idea! And maybe I’ll just raise the platform just to get him used to it. This litter box training is a lot harder than I thought. Once I see him go into the potty pose I herd him over to his litter box and make him wait on it and as soon as he gets off he pees right next to it. The poor little guy just doesn’t get what I want. Any pointers you can give me, I’ll take them.
It’s definitely comforting to know that your friend’s bunnies are good outside the cage but still drops pills in his cage. That’s what I’m guessing is going to happen with us.
