So my Thumpy was playing and I found his nail on the ground, which was big, and it surprised me quite a bit. It isn’t bleeding at all but should I worry about infections?

Try and check all of his nails. If there is no signs of blood or dried blood then it most likely did not break past the quick. If there is signs of blood I’d just keep an eye on it. My bun Moxie once broke a nail all the way at the toe (so there was bleeding of course) and she was okay.

My rabbit had broken his nail before from a big jump he made and he ended up bleeding. The vet said he should be fine if he isn’t screaming in pain and also said to put his finger on a bar of soap to suck up the blood and clean out the nail. I didn’t end up doing that because he seemed fine and his nail grew back in!
