So we just moved a few days ago and I am having some issues with my 2 1/2yr old mini rex. He is doing well with his litterbox being in a new environment, which I thought would be the biggest issue. The problem though is he has started tearing up the carpet. Which my 5 month old does so I know it can be normal bunny behavior. However, Lucky has NEVER eaten things. He doesn’t chew wires, carpet, paper etc. I have always thought that rather unusual but never minded it lol. Suggestions? He normally stays in 1 room of the house, with my son and does fine. I hate to have to put him in a cage most of the day, but can’t have any more carpet ruined in my new house:/

Any spots mine take an interest in the carpet I stick something on top of it. If it is just random spots perhaps he is not happy about the move ? Or there is something in the carpet he doesn’t like.

As for what to do, beyond taking temptation out of the way I will if necessary squirt the offending bunny with a water bottle and say no. They usually stop at that point.

EDIT..Mine usually stop by that point. I’m not stating you need to use this on yours, but it works for us.

So far it the carpet in the corner he likes to sit in the most. I did just cover it, and am hoping he won’t find a new area to destroy. Didn’t think about the water bottle. Will try that if he persists in destroying the carpet. Thanks!
