I’ve recently got a 9 week old Netherland Dwarf and already bonded like crazy with her. But i’m thinking of upgrading her current cage to an X-Pen. Just wondering what would be the best suited flooring for the cage since she loves chewing (possibly eating) the carpet in my room. I’ve read Linoleum would be good but slippery, Would a large piece of Plywood be better suited?

        Thanks

Perhaps tile? Linoleum is very chewable. Also be sure the xpen bars are very close together, several years ago my little hot tot surprised me by squeezing through the bars! I like the xpens made by Iris, very durable plastic.

I wouldn’t imagine plywood would be viable due to the porosity and possible urine damage. I use office chair mats from Staples, Home depot in the states I would think ? Then I put little washable rugs down in that. Mind you it has been a daunting task to find a carpet they won’t kill, lol.

i have a 3×4 C&C cage I put linoleum on the bottom of it (make sure it’s a lil bigger that the bottom of the cage so the bunny doesn’t get ahold of it) then I place some memory foam mats on top and then some fleece which I tuck under the bottom of the cage. once in a while it will get dug up but usually theo left it alone.

I was thinking about getting one of those indoor/outdoor mats, like you see inside grocery stores as you walk in. I noticed they have those in home depot inexpensively. They are like a very heavy rubber/plastic and then short industrial type carpet on top.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’m gonna have a look at cages next week and might pick up a large piece of cheap Linoleum and look for some natural fiber rugs (Like Seagrass or something) or the Indoor/outdoor mats just to put over so she has somewhere to sit on, hoping she wont eat them.
