I’m just wondering how you all store bunny things like hay, saw dust, treats etc?
My hay, straw and saw dust all come in big plastic bags which stay in Winston’s playroom. A few times he’s ripped the bags open so I’ve had saw dust everywhere so I’m trying to come up with a storage solution!
I’m a bit of a neat/organisation freak (but to be honest that’s kind of gone out the window since getting a rabbit!) I’m thinking of getting some big plastic containers or drawers but I’m not sure they’d be big enough to store the amount of hay that comes in one bag.
Please share your storage ideas! Pictures are welcome!!

When I used to buy large bales of hay I’d store them in a closet, but hay pieces would get everywhere when I was refilling Moxie’s hay rack and there was too much to store in a house honestly. So finally after 2 years I just switched to bagged timothy hay, even though it’s more expensive for less. I keep Moxie’s hay/pellets/carboard-toy supplies/newspaper ect in a bin. It keeps it neat looking and out of the way and helps prevent mice. I’m not sure how big your bags of stuff are, but plastic bins/totes come in some pretty big sizes (we have one that’s 50 gallons for composting but it looks bigger than it sounds).
          I’ll post a pic later.

The wood stove pellets sit in the kitchen, they don’t have any interest in ripping the bag thankfully. A box of hay sits on the opposite side of the room from the bale which is in a zipped up bag,  Pellets are on the kitchen table as well as the hay cubes and cookies.

I keep hay, pellets and litter behind a NIC fence, inside a large plastic tote box (to catch hay I’m pulling out). Extra treats and toys are in the closet. The opened bag of treats just sits on the desk so I can easily grab it in the morning (they have to have naners first thing).

The bales of hay are in the garage, as is the bag of wood pellets. I keep a 10lb pet food storage container in the rabbit room with wood pellet, and another with food pellets. I keep a large Timothy Hay sealable bag in the rabbit room with hay. I refill the hay and wood pellets from the garage. On the NIC panel bunny castle, one side has a 3rd level area with a ramp. The other side has a second level play area, and a 3rd level storage area. So the bunnies can’t reach stuff in the storage NIC area. In it, I keep the hay bag, puppy pee pads, and a bucket with odds and ends like hair brushes, ear cleaning solution, sterile solution for Lancelots eyes, a bag of cotton balls, eye antibiotic ointment, stethoscope, nail clippers, and the cat’s treats.

I had the smaller bedroom converted into a walk-in closet. IKEA installed custom wall-to-wall closets with different storage options, and since this room is also Chewie’s room (even though he’s no-limits free range), all his stuff is stored on various shelves and in various drawers. Thank you, IKEA for all the beautiful storage options! lol

My laundry room is animal storage. I keep the dog food in a big plastic storage container, wood pellets in a plastic garbage can (it can hold like 3 bags of 40 lbs) I have shelves of pet toys, hides, blankets and such. Right now the bale of hay is on a shelve in a big plastic bag, but I think I’m going to get another big garbage can and plop it into it. I have one of those small plastic drawers where I keep some mixed hay so I don’t have to make a giant mess of hay every time I refresh it. I used to have some of my linens in the room, but I redid an old hall closet meant for coats so now it hold linens. The pets have more junk than I do in this house.

It’s all pretty much off the floor so I can sweep it pretty easy after getting hay out and such.

Well pretty much all over the place. But, most of the stuff is on the bookshelves above his sleeping place. Things like bunny pharmacy, toys… Larger stuff are in the hallway packed in lower bookshelves hidden with the chairs.
And yes, we have a lot of books, and yes he likes to chow on them, and yes I still have books in a low level bookshelves that he can get to and I have no idea why I haven’t still fixed that.
And yes I’m kinda of embarrassed. lol

I bought a couple of those dog food bins for the bunnies food, I buy 15 kilo bags off amazon and it was a nightmare to store and I couldn’t lift the bag to fill up the smaller tub we use to actually feed them from so I bought the dog food bins and a few scoops now I just scoop out what I need when I need it and its much easier. I usually just sit the sawdust and hay at the side of the bins but I would like to come up with a better way to store hay because it really does seem to get everywhere!
