I went to my grandparents yesterday. I went to check on their bunnies and I think one of them is sick. I brought her to my house to take care of her. She is really skinny. I can feel her spine and ribs really well and she looks kind of hunched over. I looked at her bum and it was really dirty from urine. Her tail is missing fur. I have been watching her and she acts normal and is eating and drinking. I am giving her sunflower seeds to try and get her to gain weight because I read on a different site you can do that. Should I wait and see if I can get her to gain weight or take her to the vet. She was born 2/17/15. Her teeth, ears, and eyes are healthy. She isn’t spayed.

It sounds like this bunny needs to go to the vet. You need to find out what is causing her skinniness and her urine burn. There could be a condition or conditions that she is suffering from that is causing these problems, and for which she needs treatment. To delay a vet visit in the hope that she gains weight could cause her problems to worsen and become more dangerous. I hope that she will be okay.

Ditto, tobyluv. We can’t diagnose this bunny. She needs to see a vet.

I took her to the vet last week and she has a UTI and a URI. The vet prescribed antibiotics, probiotics, and this stuff to make her have more of an appetite. She weighed 1.59 lbs and her breed is supposed to weigh at least 3 pounds so she weighs about half what she should weigh. She is acting normal and eating normal. Thanks for answering my post!
