Okay, so before we brought bunny home, we set up his cage.  Of course he picked a different spot to pee and poop in, so we moved the litter box there.  He starts peeing and pooping in the box (hooray!) and has great habits when we are there.  But when we are not watching (like at night) he moves the litter box and poops on the spot where the litter box was.  Now, the spot he picked is right in front of the door.  Is this a territory thing? And how can I get him to stop moving the box to go on the floor?  I wouldn’t mind if it were just pops,  but he is peeing there as well.  I keep washing and rotating the blankets he pees on, hoping that removing the scent will help.  Any ideas?

Is there anyway you can attach the litter box to the side of the cage to stop him from moving it? For example, if you’re using a cat box, drilling a few holes along the lip and securing it to the bars with a few zip ties, or maybe even placing a few heavier objects around the box that he can’t pull the box over.

I guess I will have to. I’ve been trying to still be able to access the floor so I could clean up. Perhaps if I got a different mat to put beneath it, so it isn’t sitting right over a blanket so that I can wipe under it easier. I suppose being where the door is, I will still be able, to clean it up alright. Thanks! I wasn’t sure if you could tie down a litter box or if that wasn’t okay.

My Bindi kept moving his hay bin so I drilled holes in it, 2 on each side, and attached it to the condo bars with some zip ties (also called cable ties?)

So I used the zip ties to secure the litter box, and we’ve had no accidents since! Hooray! Crossing my fingers this sticks!
