I am new to rabbit ownership, and was given a bunny that the owners did not have time for. It took at least a month for the rabbit to get close to me but now the rabbit is not shy at all, he lives affection and attention and to play. He is for the most part litter trained he has a box up and downstairs. The problem is the more relaxed he gets the more he has decided to poop wherever he wants. I’ve read to banish the bunny from the couch but I really like the time on the couch cuddling with him. Is there any way to stop this? He is scheduled to be neutered in a couple weeks. Thanks!

Block the couch off until he’s neutered and a few weeks have passed. This will stop pooping/peeing on the couch from becoming a habit, since habits are hard to break even if the hormonally driven urge to mark his territory will diminish when he is neutered.

Some buns will still pee and poop on the coach after they’ve been desexed and have healed, but some stop. My Bam stopped. It’s your best bet.
I also want to say thank you for taking him in and how great it is that you’ve gained his trust and affection

I agree. Wait until he is neutered and his hormones have settled. Then try allowing him on the couch again.

Both my buns, even after the neuters, pee/poop on the bed. Sometimes the only solution is to not let them on.
