Hi everyone…as my Happy is quite well now I was thinking of bonding Happy and Hami as I want both of them to be content. I was letting them play together in my presence of course. But one day I noticed that Hami was trying to hump Happy.they are not nutured and there is no chance of nuturing as u know how the vet system here in India is. As both of them are males they are trying to mark everywhere and everything including me…
So as soon as I saw Hami trying to hump Happy I Separated them at that time but continued the bonding sessions daily. Today I saw Hami trying to hump Happy but then something happened… Happy ran away then and turned back, ran toward Hami again, went toward his back, smelled Hami’s back, pulled Hami’s fur and ran away from him while doing crazy binkies… This time Hami looked surprised.he looked here and there for sometime and then laid down!!! I was laughing like crazy.
But the fact is they dont like each other at the end of the day… What should I do?

Honestly, I don’t think you’ll be successful if you try to bond two un-neutered males. Intact rabbit bucks fight. I think you need to keep them separated, because they can really hurt each other. Whenever people here are doing bonding, it’s always between de-sexed animals, whether it’s boys or girls or a boy/girl-couple. Domestic rabbits don’t live well together unless they are desexed. They can be best friends one moment, deadly enemies the next. It’s adifferent thing in nature where wild rabbits live in large colonies and have more or less unlimited space, they don’t have to live so closely as our domesticated bunnies do in our homes.

It’s very sad though, that you can’t have them neutered.

yeah you are right may be its the only option to keep them separated. I feel bad for them though. thanks.

It is sad in one way, in another way they will still live in a household where there is another rabbit, that’s important for them too. I have two neutered males that I couldn’t bond and they hang out for a bit every day lying next to each other on either side of a gate that they can’t reach to bite each other through. I think they are f’happy buns. I had to stop trying to bond them because they fought like crazy and it only got worse.

mines are just not fighters but they like nipping each other specially Hami… i think either he is taking Happy to be a girl or he doesnt care if Happy is a girl or not he is just humping him like crazy… sometimes they sit together as well but the next moment i see Hami doing things to Happy… so i never leave them together alone…

I also have 2 buns I can’t bond because of my girl being so aggressive. They live side by side and can see and smell each other. I think they are pretty happy as they still have company and also have time with their humans.
