After discovering this forum, I knew I had to join!  There’s such a great wealth of knowledge and experience here!

I have 2 bunnies…one just adopted on Oct.13th.  My first, Dusty, is a double-maned Lionhead that I’ve had about a year and a half.  He’s now about  5 yrs. old and was neutered late in September.  A friend my hubby worked with was getting rid of him  …so we took him in and I started my crash course on bunny care.  It’s sad, but Dusty spent his life (prior to his time here) in a small cage.  It’s taken him quite awhile to get where he is now…allowed to explore the house and interact with everyone all the time.  It was nearly a year till I saw him do his first binky!  But he’s happy and content now.

My second rabbit is Lily, a 2 yr. old Florida white.  We adopted her from a local shelter and she is spayed.  What a personality she has!  Very different from Dusty.  She certainly is a bunny who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to let you know!  She is doing great so far and is adjusting to her new home wonderfully.

I’m working on bonding them, which is a real adventure.  As someone on here stated in a post I read, it’s a 2 step forward, one step back process…but we are making progress.  They love to snuggle and LIly seems to really want Dusty to groom her…no luck there yet.  Dusty will mount her, but I gently nudge him off after a bit, as she gets irritated and nips at him…as if to say…okay, pal…I get the message!  They “date” usually 2 times a day.

Anyway, I’m glad to be part of this forum and to get acquainted with everyone!

Big Welcome to you! I have 2 bunnies too, a Mini-Lop boy named Bindi Loo and my little girl, Olivia (who is also not afraid to let me know if she wants something or I’ve done something wrong. )

Welcome! Good luck with the bonding! We have successfully bonded six pairs, although 3 are dissolved due to deaths. It can be quite the process! Don’t give up! One day, it will just click.
