So,I had to the maintenance man come and fix my stove today. The most curious thing happened. The man came in and was looking at the stove and I was standing next to him. Mr. Bun-bun was running free as usual. Well the guy got really close to me and my bun growled. This is the first time I have heard do this. As if that wasn’t bad enough my bun hopped right on over and proceeded to bite and pull and his pants. I was in shock and the guy thought it was the funniest thing ever. Mr. Bun-bun then came hopping back to me and stood with both front paws on my right foot. He was not happy abd still growling. He did not relax until the guy left. How do I deal with mr vicious? I’m still in shock

He probably feels threatened as they can smell things we can’t. My rabbit does this but only when really threatened.
Boo has done it when she smells my mums dog but she’s used to it now after we let her smell it.
They don’t realise tugging pants hurts us. I’d either keep her away is you have strangers around who are unwilling to be ‘tested’.
Or keep an eye on it because I don’t think rabbits would actually hurt anyone its just a warning.
If i could smell a bear or a tiger and thought I was in danger i would act defensively.
If he starts getting very aggressive and hurting people I’d keep her away from strangers! ☺ good luck

Thank you for the advice. But he has never ever acted that vicious. He does not like my husband but has never been that aggressive. Maybe there is something he did not like about that guy. I felt really uncomfortable with him too. I hope this does not happen again. He went back to being his sweet loving kissing self after the guy left.

Goodness, he’s a rottweiler in disguise.

We had another member tell us about an incident like this once, a man came to fix sth in her apt and her bunny reacted much like yours. I’m glad the man thought it was funny. It’s probably not easy to train your bunny not to be protective of you, so I think it’d be best if you shut him in in another room when there is maintenance work to be done. I kind of wish you could’ve filmed it. Your rabbit is a special little guy.

The guy said it was the first time he has been attacked by a bunny. Lol. I wonder if may he spends too much time with my chi. I have had company over and the only thing he does is to sit by my feet. This was crazy!! I wish I could have filmed it. It was cute the way he tried to be so scarry. I love my little guy.

AW my rabbit lunges and growls when she’s scared usually by someone coming to stroke her and maybe not letting her smell them first. But both times that happened they both have pet dogs .
I’d definitely put her somewhere safe next time that person is round though lol for his protection by the sounds of it lol.

I don’t know what came over him. I had another guy in today and he smelt the guy and left him alone. He of course stayed close by but not growling. It was very wierd. I told the neighbor about it and she said her dog does the same thing to that guy. Maybe he is just not good people.

I found out from the office that the giy was under a false name and has a history of violent crime. They fired him but that is so scarry. My little bun is the best and I find more reasons to love him more everyday.
