Hey Everyone long time Lurker first time Poster.

So let me start with both of there observed types of personality’s for a start so you can understand who each of them is.

Tony 1 1/2 Year Lion Head Neutered

Tony was living with me at my parents place up until last week I would describe him as a very good boy he never got into any trouble by pulling carpet or chewing things he wasn’t suppose too, He was very loving in his own way he will always lay next to you nudge you and generally always be somewhere in the line of site of you.  He also has a bit of a temperament if there was a bowl or toy in the wrong location he would literately smash the heck out of it till it was where he determined it should be.  He also after every dinner since we cut down to a very minimal amount of kibble (10 per serving) he will take his dish and smash it against the others.  Me and Mom always called him little MR Attitude.

Clara 4 Month old Non-Spayed Female Mini Lop.

Clara is such a Joy shes very well behaved hasn’t caused me any headaches at all shes always doing Binkys hopping around racing back and forth shes has a bit of a foot fetish shes always licking my Girlfriends feet and giving lots of kisses to us if we are down on her level.  She is the most friendly rabbit I have ever met. Nothing ever seems to bother her and she goes right back to being happy and a clown.

Clara is a rabbit that my Girlfriend of 2 years decided to adopt with my consent and would introduce to Tony when I would move into her place when her Dad moved out, We thought that this would be a good idea since Tony living at my parents and mom is retired and would spend all day with Tony and let him have total run of the house (hardly ever in his cage) So since I do work full time Tony did have lots of human interaction time and moving out to my girlfriends that would decrease since we both work full time.

So I moved tony into our office where Clara has been for the last 4 Months and put both their large cages in a L-Shape so that they were close enough they could see, hear and smell eachother but not close enough that they could attack or bite each other through the cage.

Introduction at first was done in a bathroom where no bun has been before everything went well, they were both way too interested in the bathroom then each other but sniffed and walked over one another.

Now things are not so good Tony has become very aggressive towards Clara when he is out and she is in her age he will go up to her bars and try to bite her through them. and when he is in his cage and she is out he is extremely protective of his cage if she gets close to it he is on high alert and we had one major incident this weekend where Clara was near the cage and her floppy ear must have went though the bars and Tony bit a small piece off and poor Clara screamed and ran away. Clara doesn’t seem to have hurt feelings by it shes still super happy.  So last night we tried to put them back in the bath room and see how things would go and Tony Growled and sounded like a rabbet rabbit spiting and attacked her I had to separate them worried he would hurt her again.

I do think a few things is going on with Tony we Moved a mature Neutered Rabbit into a Room that has been Claras for over 2 Months also we took him away from his only home he has ever known, also he could be mourning my Mother since shes not here and they were pretty close (even though she was gone for the last month taking care of grandpa in the hospital out of town.)

I already switched out each others stuffed animals and some toys.

I was thinking of in a week or so doing another introduction at my parents place which is more Tonys Territory,’

Any suggestions you guys would have would be great

I don’t have much time to post, so will try to come back when I can provide more useful information.

The only thing I would say is that aggression is common with bonding and moving to territory Tony is more familiar will very likely make things worse.

That and have a look at stress bonding. Charlie was quite aggressive with Albus, if you have a look at my thread (I think Albus joined us around page 3) you can see what I did.

I agree with Paradigm on the territory issue. The bonding area must be completely neutral. The buns also need time to get to know eachother through a fence. You mentioned this – but how long have they been getting to know eachother? Don’t move too quickly.

I’ve been keeping them apart Tonys aggression when Clara is out seems to be subsiding.

So my plan is I’m going to give it another chance this time in really neutral territory down int he basement bathroom and if the aggression continues I’m going to try doing stress bonding, I’ve been doing some research on the matter and think I have a plan lol
