Has anyone else read The Miraculous Journey Of Edward Tulane?

The protagonist is a china rabbit, and the entire time I was reading it, I couldn’t help picturing my bunny as Edward.

It’s so wonderfully written, that I had to gush and hopefully convince one other person to read it. lol

Beware, however, that you must finish it in a non-public place in case of embarrassing emotional meltdowns. I made the mistake of reading the final chapter during my prep (when I should have been grading my AP kids’ practice exams), and when the bell rang, I had to lock out my incoming class until I could mop up my face and look slightly less puffy-eyed.

It sounds lovely! The only rabbit-book I’ve read is Watership Down. Do not read that one either in a public place.

Haha! I assigned Watership Down to my students for their summer reading project a year ago.

Good for your students, it’s a lovely book!! I so recommend it!! I did cry, but not in any really bad way. I won’t see the movie though because I’ve heard it’s sadder.

I’ve loved it since I was a high school student myself. And I agree – tears, but bittersweet tears.

The movie Watership Down is very good too and true to the book. One of my favorite books when I was young, which I read to my children when they were young.

I haven’t read it but I definitely will now!! What’s the author’s name?

A few years ago I had to read “Watership down” and write a report about it. It was s good book, too bad Moxie decided to try and eat it…It was a library book. >.<

                      Hungry bunny syndrome.

The author’s name is Kate DiCamillo.

Are they chapter books? or children books? I know that sounds silly but I’d like to know! I’d love to read a book with a bunny based character. I know anything with China and rabbits is normally really good due to their folklure.
