I have two bunnies, i bought when they were about a month and a half. Both are from different breeders and bought about a month apart. They are both about 1 year old now. They were both neutered at 5 months old. They are free range in my room and have been since they were little. In the beginning the older bunny was dominant. Now the younger one is chasing and nipping the older one. As of right now they have been separated for a couple days by using a play pen. They like to lay next to eachother on either side of the play pen and groom eachother however when i take away the pen the younger one chases the older one. The older bun was sick for a little bit which led me to believe the younger one was picking on him, however right now there are no signs of illness. Im debating if i should take the buns to the vet or try to rebond them? I also dont play with them often (im wondering if that plays a part in this) because of work and school.

          Hi there,

I think that because of the illness of the older one, the younger one is trying to be topbunny.

In the wild, most dominant animals are getting replaced by a younger or healthier one, once they got sick.

I think it’s best to rebond them, because they can’t play together now and since you are busy with school and work they might be getting a little bored.

I hope that other people will give you some advice as well.

          Best of luck!
