I was browsing through online pet stores and saw something that made me somewhat happy : we’ve got a new brand for hay. Its by Witte Molen. On googling, i found out that its from Netherland. Couldn’t find out more since most content was in their language.

        The product description reads :

“Blossom hay consists of high-quality hay with a tasty addition of dandelion, jasmine blossom, rose blossom, apple or carrot.”

I just want to know if any of you have bought any stuff from this brand and are their products safe ? (I am worried about pesticides and stuff on the hay  )

All EU countries have the same laws regarding animal feed. http://ec.europa.eu/food/food/animalnutrition/index_en.htmThis is on contaminants: http://ec.europa.eu/food/food/animalnutrition/contaminants/index_en.htm

I’d not choose the rose or jasmine options, those are most likely to contain pesticides. Pesticides and herbicides on commercially grown flowers are not regulated like in food-production.

The only Witte Molen-products I can find to be sold in Sweden is Chinchilla sand and dwarf-hamster food, so I’ve never tried any of their products.

You can e-mail them and ask about their hay. All Dutch people are proficient in English. Here’s a link to their website in English: http://www.wittemolen.nl/en/products/3-0-5320/products.htm
