Will getting my 3.5 month old bunny spayed or neutered( not 100% sure of gender) help stop pulling up carpet? I am not sure what to do she has a lot of other things to chew on including but not limited to willow sticks, willow house, willow balls, Apple chews, and cardboard. At the moment she is mostly free roam in my bed room but I do have an expen around my bed, she is litter trained although she does drop some pellets outside her box.

Probably not, but she will mellow with age. Spaying will help with litter-training though, a bunny generally won’t stay litter-trained during pruberty because hormones make them want to mark their area with poop and pee. And if she turns out to be a girl, spaying her is recommended anyway since intact does have a very high risk of uterine cancer.

If she just likes to dig, you could try making her a digging-box with cut up newspaper in it and pieces of cheap fleece blankies. Put something over the carpet so she can’t get at it. I think people here have used tiles.

to be completely honest, Loki has been neutered for about 7 months and he digs just as much as he used to. I think it really depends on the rabbit’s personality. Loki may have toned it down a little, but he certainly still enjoys to dig. I have made him dig houses and everything, unfortunately he would rather dig and bite my carpet up. the longer you have him/her, you’ll learn more about their personality. one thing i’ve learned is rabbits really are so different! and I would also consider Loki litter trained, but he still always drops pellets around his litterbox. although he never goes outside his cage.

Yes and no. It depends on why your bunny is doing the digging. Bam is right though, there are other benefits to spaying.
