Rosie loves her outdoor time. We have both a fenced area and a harness for her to go outside.

We live in Southern Ontario and of course winter is on its way. When do you stop bringing your bunnies outside? She loves playing in the grass outside so I am trying to give her as much time out there as I can.

Dont take her out if you feel its too cold. Your bun might think its fun but after YOU wouldnt even wanna stay! If you feel that youre alright and can stay out for about 10 minutes without getting super cold, it should be alright. If your bun is shivering or showing signs of coldness, take her inside.

Generally speaking, it’s not a problem for a rabbit if the diff between indoors and outdoors temp is 10 degrees C, which means if you have an indoors temp of 71,6 F there’s no problem until the outdoors temp drops below 53,6 F.

That said there are people who let their buns out to play in the snow for a bit in the winter, but that shouldn’t be for more than a few minutes.

The difference between indoor and out door temperatures is a bigger issue than the actual temperatures. Many rabbits live full time out in the cold no problem. When they do though, they grow thicker coats and generally adjust to it. So, if you don’t heat your house to really warm, you can take your rabbit outside in much colder temperatures than you could if you tend to keep your house really toasty warm.
