I’m upgrading bunny’s home and getting a 48″ dog crate. It comes with one of the trays that goes on the inside, which I’ll cover with fleece and some other soft surfaces, but I’m wondering how to contain all of the hay from getting outside of the cage

I like the look of this (under tray/floor)

Has anyone made or found a tray to go under the entire cage?   What do you do to contain hay/poo, etc. from getting outside of the cage?

I just don’t know what I’ll find store-bought for a 48″ cage, so I’m thinking I might need to make something?

My bunny’s cage is a puppy playpen, and I had to deal with this same problem. What I ended up doing was using a piece of Polywall. It’s antibacterial, waterproof, textured plastic. I got a 4 by 7ft piece from Home Depot for $20. You can cut with regular scissors. I cut about an inch and a half bigger than the pen in all directions. Then, I bought some untreated wooden planks about 2 x 1 x 70in. I got my dad to cut them to size, and then I attached 2 in. of velcro (from Walmart) to each end of the 4 planks with a stapler, and did the same with the Polywall. So now, I just attach the 4 wooden planks to the polywall and it keeps all the poops and hay inside.
          Hope this helps!

I made a hay bin from the cubes from Bed Bath and Beyond. I bent it in half. I used a pillow case to cover it. It’s working.
