        Hi everyone!
What age can I give my bunny apple tree twigs and can I just cut them off my own tree? Can I cut a big chunk or must it be small twigs? And do I have to wash it or something first?
Thank you for any advice xxx

If it’s a pesticide free tree you can give twigs or branches or leaves. I give my buns twigs and leaves from my apple trees almost every day.

            At any age though?

My bunnies are 10 weeks. I know I can’t give them greens or treats yet. Just thought branches would occupy them a bit. And yes it’s never had anything on it x

I see, they’re so young! 12 weeks is the recommended age for intro of veggies. I think it’s safest to wait until then since the GI microbiota (the bacterial population in the gut) isn’t fully developed in babies so they may not tolerate the same things as adult bunnies. You don’t want to risk runny stools etc.

But at 12 weeks I’d not hesitate to give apple twigs as a first “veg”. As you say, it’s not just food, it’s a rewarding activity as well.
