Hi everyone! I just adopted my little Leo a few months ago and they originally told me that he is a Lionhead. Now that he’s growing, he’s starting to look different than the lionheads I’ve seen before. I think that his ears are too long, his mane too short, and he seems to be much smaller than what they usually are. Maybe hes a mix with something?

Leo is about 7 months old, and is either albino or REW (If there is a difference between the 2). He is 4lbs, all white with a little grey spot on his noes, has red eyes with a pink outline, and has extra long fur around his neck and on his haunches. He also has a really small head and really big feet lol

What do you guys think? Is is part lionhead part something else? Like what?

I’ll attach some pictures (sorry that they’re sideways) Thanks!!

First of all, he is a darling. Just precious. I adore REW lionheads.
He definitely has lionhead in him, though you are right about the ears and the mane. Lionheads are usually pretty tiny bunnies, of the three full-breed lions that I have had, they all hovered around the 2-3 lb mark. I also have a lionhead/rex mix, and he looks a lot more like your boy in the sizing and ears regard. My guess is that your bun has atleast some Californian rabbit in him, due to the coloring on his nose and ears.

The term “albino” is not usually used to refer to rabbits, but it would be the same thing as saying REW.

Wow thanks for your help! You’re awesome just looked up the California breed and that does look a bit like my little Leo.

And I never new that about albino vs. REW

When I saw the smudge of color and big ears, I though the same thing as LEL. Lionhead/californian mix.
