hello.. I a very scared for my bunny..I took him out after a shower and the tub still had a larger amount water in it. after I left him out he went under the sofa and went somewhere else. and there I am looking for him. then I hear a large splash and him swimming around in the tub! I panicked and dryed him off . his belly is still a litle wet. and im scared for him. he is acting normal. still eating. but im worried about long term effects. like gi stasis from stress. infections and sickness. like im REALLY scared! will he be okay????

Though bathing rabbits isn’t generally recommend, a quick dunk isn’t a big deal. Every now and then rabbits do even need baths and are bathed deliberately.

I don’t think he would be hurt, as long as u dried him off and keep him warm and calm for a while
Yes stress is bad for rabbits but it happens. Example: vet visits can be stressful.

I would just keep an eye on him and his poop to see if anything unusual happens. And just in case he ingested soap or something. But if all is normal today and tomorrow then I’d say he’s fine

as far as i know bunnies are swimmers… and also i bathe my rabbit once or twice a week and he acts as if he is enjoying a spa treatment. he enjoys his bathing session thoroughly…so i guess your bun was just being a bun(naughty one) and even if he jumped there out of fear, the water wont hurt him…just be sure that he hasnt got any water in his ears. that is the only thing i am thinking about…
                best of luck…

The only concern I would have is something in the water that could cause irritation. Otherwise, as long as he’s thoroughly dried, he should be just fine.
