I’m currently building a big run for Boston and Poppy and obviously need to keep them safe and ensure they can’t dig out/other things can’t dig in. I’m going to be moving pretty soon and I’ll be renting so I can’t do anything to change the environment (like burying wire) so I was thinking I could put tiles around the inside edge, leaving plenty of grassy ground for them in the middle.

Does this sound like an ok plan?
Is there a better way of doing it?
Does anyone know what the ideal size of tile?

        Thanks!

It kind of depends on the type of earth you have in the run. If it’s light and sandy, bunnies have no problem digging their way out under tiles. If it’s heavy, like clay, they’re likely to just dig smaller holes. Of course this may not apply to all individual rabbits in the world, I’m sure there are some dedicated diggers that will stop at nothing.

What I did was put netting on the ground and secure it to the sides of the run, then the grass grew through the holes in the netting. (But I’m not using my run anymore since it’s probably safe against wild-life predators but not against human predators.)
