My girls get two salads a day. Breakfast is usually I few pieces of parsley or cilantro and dandelion greens. Dinner is a big salad with usually a mix that varies between different parsleys, cilantro, watercress, dandelion greens, kale and a baby carrot or bell pepper slices thrown in.
What’s in your happy bunnies salads?

It varies with the season, but now it’s apple twigs with leaves on them, dandelion, plantain, some kale and Jerusalem Artichoke-leaves. They also get apple, mostly the peal (the peal has less sugar) since we’re getting lots and lots of apples this fall. I still pick most of their greens outside since there’s still lots of fresh greens growing – come winter they’ll get more of romaine, kale, cilantro, parlsey and other stuff you can buy.

Mine’s seasonal too. Though his favourites are radicchio, cilantro, alfalfa and clover (not to worry – I limit how much of the latter two he gets). I always try to have radicchio on hand.

My bunnies’ salads vary with the season too. We recently adopted a 10 month old that really didn’t eat any veggies. After lots of trial and error we found that she loves Anise (Fennel) so now that is a staple in the salads. Since we’ve started adding this she now eats all the other greens. These consist of some combination of the following: red leaf or romaine lettuce, dill, cilantro, parsley, dandelion greens, beet tops.

My little male goes nuts over bell pepper. I’m glad to find something he likes just as much as fruit.
