        Okay so with how busy I am lately with school, loss of pets, puppies and we just found out somebody we know passed away, Moxie hasn’t been able to get out as much to run around. So I plan one making her a large home base. The first level will be about 56 inches long by 42 inches wide and 28 inches high. The next level will be 28 inches wide by 56 inches long and 14 inches high, although in most places it will be 28 inches high. The third level will be only 14 inches high, so it will be more of a napping spot.

        Here is a pic giving the general idea on how it will be set up:

        The first level will be extended out a bit, so instead of 2x4x1 it’s going to be 3x4x2 panels. But the other 2 levels will be made according to the picture, if not slight modifications.

        Now here are the questions:

        1) Should this be big enough for an 8 pound bunny, who does still have run around time?

        2) The NIC cubes were Whitmor 6070-968-BLK black storage cubes, set of 6. (amazon) it seems people have used it to make those in the comments, but I wanted to know if it should be sturdy enough ect.

        3) Those cubes are quite pricey considering I need around 52 panels and there are 23 panels in that set. (it’s $32) So I’d either need 3 of those packs or 2 of those packs and a smaller pack for $25. So really all I’m asking is if you know of a cheaper NIC cube?

        (P.S. to the admins, feel free to make that pic smaller if it is too big. I don’t seem to be able to!!)

        Thanks so much in advance!

          Looks good to me! The only thing I would do differently is the hole in the second level. It’s so small that it’s pretty much a straight drop down, which would be a little awkward for her I think. It should be twice as big at least.

          Bed Bath and Beyond has good quality grids for cheaper. There are 19 panels in one set, for $20. Here’s a link:

              Yeah I agree on the second floor hole, though I’d leave three sections open, so bunny could get some air going up, and more control going down.

                It looks nice, but I highly recommend you have a plan for opening it up to clean it, if you don’t. I have fur tumbleweeds on the sides and ground into the carpet. I handled that by using rubber backed carpet tiles I can pull out and vacuum.

                  Going from the first to the second floor seems a little awkward.. Maybe make a ramp or open up the hole so it’s easier to jump up and down? Also I recommend THICK flooring. The picture is using plywood, I suggest a thicker piece of wood (when I had a NIC condo, water was leaking through the floor and onto the carpet, I had no idea). Also, maybe wheels, since it’d be SIGNIFICANTLY easier to clean the surrounding areas. You’re also going to want more doors/access points. I suggest making one big door so you can access each floor, makes cleaning much easier.

                    What’s your plant for cleaning the shelves?

                      Dalielahdawn— I was planning on clipping the NIC cubes together so that I could remove a few to slide to shelves out and clean them, or making the carpet removable.

                        I’m thinking that if you make a door all the way up, like on each level you would have easier access to everything without the hassle of undoing a bunch of clips, something like this;
