We’ve added a new little one to the family, though a human this time.  Since the baby has come home, it’s been great to see how the bunnies interact with him and respond.  We’ve discovered that Gus feels the baby is trying to communicate danger when he cries, so when the little one gets worked up, Gus also gets worked up and will spend the next 20 minutes thumping away.  They LOVE the baby’s toys and have chinned everything to claim it as their own.  Surprisingly, Minerva has figured out how to make one of the toys play music by bumping it and does so frequently.  One of the strangest things has been the bunnies’ response to burping.  Our little guy is not a gentle burper and requires a sound patting to get the burps up.  Both bunnies interpret these as thumps and will stop whatever they’re doing to periscope around and locate the danger.  It makes feeding time interesting, to say the least.

And, because no bunny and baby post would be complete without pictures:

What did you do to our family!?!

        Thanks for the new chair!

Good, he’s sleeping.  We can check him out…

        What are these things?!?

        What is this thing?!?

        Whiskers are tickly

I like watching my bunnies now.

And yes, we supervise closely when they’re together.
