Ok I heard that it’s safe but you have to sterilize them in water vinegar for a week and then bake them overnight and then soak them in water again and then let them dry for a month and repeat a lot. I don’t want to do this so what should I do? Should I sterilize it like they say or do you have a better way or should I not give it to him?

Goodness. I give my buns pine cones to play with. I haven’t done any soaking and baking and drying for a month and repeat. That would be out of the question for me, they’d have to play with sth else instead.

Mine don’t eat their pine cones. They throw them about sometimes. I can’t say pine-ones make them over-joyed, exactly. If you ask them, they’d probably say life is just as good without pine cones as with pine cones.

I think most pathogens on stuff die if you boil it for 20 minutes (water should cover the item you boil, there should be bubbles forming so it actively boils.) Then you could dry the pine-cone but not for a whole month I think.
