Hi!!! I’ve been taking my bunny Snowball on my bed with me for about the past week. She really loves digging at my blankets and lying down

I noticed she’s been grinding her teeth a lot. It sounds like her happy grind (usually when I rub her ears!!) but she does it so often that I’m getting a little worried? She had some random hiccups as well so I hope she’s ok

As I’m typing this she’s lying down grinding her teeth I’m hoping she’s just super happy but I’d like to make sure!! Thank you guys!! (she’s had teeth problems in the past by the way, about 6 months ago she had spurs)

If a bunny is in so much pain that you hear tooth grinding like a chatter, there will be other signs of discomfort as well. Like refusal to eat, general low activity/lethargy, the bunny sits hunched up and/or hides somewhere out of sight.

As always, eating, pooping and peeing are the three basic things to look for if you’re wondering about your buns well-being. Molar spurs tend to manifest themselves in stomach trouble (poopy but, low appetite, gas) because the bunny can’t or won’t (due to pain) chew properly and will try to avoid coarse food like hay.

If she happily digs away in your bed and then lies down and tooth-grind, it seems much more like a happy bun than a bunny in any kind of pain.

I don’t know about hickups in rabbits. How old is she? I know dog-puppies hickup a lot but adult dogs seldom do.
