She pulls little pieces of the carpet up and eats it. Is this dangerous?

Yes it is dangerous. I still sometimes have this ongoing with my girl. I place something like a ceramic tile over the spot that she’s eating on the carpet to prevent her from ingesting carpet fibers.

I also try to redirect mine from eating the carpet but both of mine do it. ( he learned from her) also try various toys, sometimes I divert to a willow or an apple twig or even I bust out the slinky and watch them have fun with it.

it can be dangerous as it can cause some tummy and blockage problems for the bun.

My solution, which, may seem weird, masking tape (I get scotch as it sticks well). My buns mainly chew like in the doorways and corners and along the area where the walls and carpet meet. For corners, like where the carpet meets the tiles for the fire place, I just pretty much weave pieces together, 2-3 layers thick, and use that to patch the corners. For doorways and areas where walls meet the carpet, I just put two long strips (one on top of the other) on those parts. Weve had to replace them a few times due to wear and tear, and did no damage to the carpet! And my little buns quickly learned that sticky tape and fur doesn’t get along.

I’m almost positive I saw her eat the carpet fiber but I’m not 100% sure. She sure does like to pull the carpet up and I have carpet in my entire apartment. I don’t want to not allow her to run around because she absolutely loves doing that. How would I know if she is? Would it shows it her poop?

If she eats a little bit of fluff from a carpet, I think it’d pass through much like small nibbles of fleece do. You wouldn’t see it in the poop unless the carpet has a bright color.

If she ingests carpet fiber, thats rather worse. Long threads can cause blockages.
