So I recently got a Netherland dwarf who’s about 10weeks old. I’m trying to litter train him but he’s not really learning. He keeps popping around the litter box not in it. So in three days when I move and set up his cage, should I see where he’s pooping and decide where to put it in his cage? Also is it okay to keep him in his cage while I’m away? I isially let him out in his pen when I’m home. I’m also starting to let him out while I’m sleeping. I just want to be a good bunny mom haha. Thanks

It’s much easier to litter train a rabbit after they’ve been spayed or neutered, so you might not have much success with your rabbit until he is neutered. If his cage is large enough, at least 2 feet by 4 feet, it should be okay for him to stay in it while you are away, especially if it’s in the late mornings or afternoons when rabbits sleep a lot. They do need plenty of exercise and play time outside of a cage each day, so hopefully he is getting that. You will need to “bunny proof” any rooms that he runs around in, to protect your belongings as well as to make sure he is safe (and not chewing on any electrical wires or anything else harmful to him).

Thanks for the advice! The cage I have isn’t that big. It’s a Kaytee cage for dwarfs. All his basics are in his cage but outside the cage I have a pen where his cardboard castle and other toys are.
