I will be adopting my first rabbit soon and I have a rabbit room all planned out, but I have one issue, carpet. I am worried that my soft carpet in the rabbit room will cause sore hocks. Should I place fleece? Insert memory foam mats? I would take any suggestions, thanks.

I think carpet is pretty safe for the bun as most carpets do have the soft (cant think of the name, but its like, the thin foam stuff). My buns have done fine with the carpet, even my little stomper. We do have a second layer of carpet in some parts of the house (to prevent bunny rippings) but they seem to do fine on both.

I use Snoozzy mats for my buns. They are soft mats made for dog kennels. However, you need to carefully watch and make sure your bun is not chewing any material you give him/her. If they chew and ingest fabric it can cause a dangerous blockage. Baby buns are especially fond of chewing things like blankets.
