Hi again ! My rabbit for the past 20 days has been on a strict only hay diet (vet recommended since he had diarrhea).
Just today I asked my vet if it was okay to fees veggies and he said to start with one at a time. So I gave my rabbit a cup full of parsley. Its around 12:32am and I found this clear liquid on the floor? Hes done this twice within maybe 2 hours of each other. his pee is usually yellowish and smells like pee but this one is clear and smells like…i guess like kale? I did take him out earlier but hes so quick and found some couch lining on the floor and ate it(around a inch in length and width), i tried to get it from him but he just swallowed it whole > do you think he’s salivating and trying to get that fiber out? Or is it the parsley ? Im not sure if the liquid is coming from his mouth or pee/poo holes.

Might be best to talk to your vet on that one. I had to put heavy blankets on any parts of the furniture that my rabbits could dig so they wouldn’t do that. If introducing new veggies with the worry if it upsetting his tummy, I would suggest starting in smaller amounts that a full cup

Pieces of couch are most likely to lead to blockage, not clear liquid coming from somewhere, so I’m more likely to blame the parsley. It could just be drool, but that’s usually green when they eat veggies. Considering what’s been going on, a vet consult would be a good idea.

Has the vet discussed gut flora with you?

Can feeding veggies really cause that? He’s been peeing on the floor lately a lot (3 times a day) sometimes its clear and sometimes its a light yellow tinge to it. I haven’t fed him parsley after that one time, because he had diarrhea soon after.   I’m going to call my vet, but there are no parasites in his poop, so I’m not sure whats causing all this abnormal poo and pee. I’m afraid he may have cancer.

Nothing suggest cancer. Poor gut flora is a likely cause of difficulty digesting veggies.

Humans and bunnies alike need a variety of beneficial bacteria living and thriving in our digestive tracts to help break down food into the nutrients we can absorb. When the gut lacks these, the food doesn’t get well broken down, and less helpful bacteria that cause problems like gas and diarrhea can multiply. For humans there is a simple remedy in things like yogurt and kefir which contain live beneficial bacteria cultures, or using probiotics which are just the beneficial bacteria straight.

Of course bunny gut flora isn’t quite the same as human gut flora, so things made for humans don’t help. To get bunny bacteria, you need the poop from a healthy rabbit.
