For the most part, Mr. Binkins tum is FINALLY getting back to normal. His appetite is wonderful, his energy level is great, he’s not shedding nearly as much, and all in all seems to be back in the peak of bunny health He’s been producing tons of very uniform golden brown poops. He’s still, every so often, producing double poops or poop with hair in it, but he seems to be getting a LOT better. But I’m wondering. Some of the darker brown, almost black poops seem to be shiny on the outside, almost greasy looking. A few poops seem to be mushy, but I’m thinking he’s actually peeing on them, or stepping on them or something. They’re don’t seem runny like diarrhea. Since the majority of his poops seem to be the ideal sort of dry, uniform, brown poops, should I be worried about the few abnormal poos he’s producing?

Hi Samara. How long has it been since he started having stomach issues? When did he start getting better?

The poop they poop mark with can be covered with sth oily, those droppings often have a strong, unpleasant odor (onion-like).
Also when you’ve given a bunny simethicone the poop can look shiny.

It’s not surplus cecals you’re seeing? They can step in those sometimes and make a mess. They are very shine and doesn’t always stick together like a cluster of grapes.

I have no idea. But now that I think about it, it does look like the poops I’ve found on my bed I stopped given him the simethicone a while ago. And I don’t think the mushy ones are cecals, they seem to be the same color as his golden poops. I havent seen anything out of the ordinary today, I’ve cut the pumpkin and pellets down to once a day, with hard pellets instead of softened, and another serving of just pellets at bedtime. He seems to be doing a LOT better. Right when this problem started to happen, my vet told me that my usual feedings of spinach, kale, and romaine HAD to be rotated, so I gave him bok choy and red leaf lettuce along with romaine. He really started improving when I gave him his favorites back. I think removing the kale from his diet, even for a week, really messed with his tum.

I was going to suggest territorial poops too.
