This whole thing is basically a rant..

I recently visited my cousins house, and she has four rabbits. While I was there, I saw that all of the rabbits were kept outside in the hutches that are too small, and have wire bottoms. All four of them are kept together, they are all males, and none of them are neutered. One is a Flemish giant, another is a Netherland dwarf, there’s a holland lop, and a black mix rabbit. There main diet consists of pellets and carrots.

        Short story as well:
While I was there, both the Netherland dwarf and the black rabbit escaped. We managed to easily catch the Netherland, but the black rabbit ran into the road and almost got run over! My younger cousin tackled the bunny to catch it. The whole thing was a nightmare, and it was horrible to watch the rabbits being so mistreated.

Along with the Netherland and the black bunny getting out, the holland lop has an infection on his eye, that I attempted to clean up, but it still looks pretty bad.

On top of all of that, none of them look groomed, they have burrs and seeds all stuck in there fur, there nails aren’t trimmed, the four unneutured male rabbits got into several fights, and they had access to nibbling on styrofoam!

I hate seeing rabbits mistreated in such a way, and I think if you can’t properly research rabbits and how to care for them, you don’t deserve to own any.

Eek): maybe text her a link or something to either this or another rabbit forum (if you choose this one, I’d delete this post before you text it lol). Maybe if it’s here say “hey there was a post about catching rabbits that’s really good on here after the craziness when I visited and they got out! It might help you out next time it happens. There’s a bunch of other stuff on there too that’s fun to read through and some tips/ideas I like to use and good help and advice. I just thought I’d pass it along!” Nice, hepful, and it directs her to info that she obviously doesn’t know about or understand how much damage she could be causing to their health without coming off rude you know?

tori rose’s idea sounds good. Link her to some info and sound like you’re helping her, not scolding her. People tend to get defensive if you go into it telling them everything they’re doing wrong, so they shut down and don’t listen. Maybe even volunteer to help her fix up their hutches or something? If she insists they stay outside, you could at least help her make their living arrangements more comfy.
