that’s a pretty long trip, but i’m sure it can be done. I think obviously you want to make your bun as comfortable as possible. make sure the carrier isn’t too large as if it is, sudden stops might cause your bun to fly around and get injured. i would also stop sporadically to make sure that Darla has some food and some water.

I’ve done a 5 hour trip from northern to southern california, but never one across the states

Ive done a few small travels but nothing of that large scale. Is it just you and the bun, or are others going to be there too? Are you going straight there or do you plan to have some stops on the way there? I definitely agree with flopsie to make sure the carrier isn’t too large and to stop now and then for food and water!

It doesn’t take much for them to slide. When I drive with my bunnies in the carrier, for short trips I use a puppy pee pad with hay. But the pee pad slides around. Perhaps double sided tape will keep the pee pad from sliding, and then put hay on top as usual? I’m going to try this in October. I might be taking my 2 indoor buns with me on a 5-hour drive for a 2-week work trip.

Drive all day with small stops for her to drink and stretch legs then a hotel at night where she made herself comfy, pooped, peeped, ate, drank.
Today we walked around I had her in carrier then doing 5 hours and staying in same place for two nights. So far so good I think.
