        Hi!

Poppy (my bunny) made a very loud honking sound, and she looked like she was sneezing. She had been sitting down not really doing anything and I had been in the room reading so I don’t know if it was a reaction to something going on, but it was very loud and really has me worried. She had never made a sound like this before and it was VERY loud. I have seen her sneeze a couple times before and it was always been quite. There was no discharge. Is this something I should worry about? Has any one experienced this? Your help would defininitely be appreciated. Thanks!!

I’d say keep an eye on her just in case something is bothering her if you aren’t sure what caused it. Ive seen Midnight (my oldest bun) actually wake herself up a few times from one of her little sneeze fits and she would honk like she was upset, then go right back to sleep. Might be possible your Poppy woke herself, or something may have frightened her(maybe a bad dream!) Just keep an eye on her for a little bit. If it continues to happen then its something to be concerned about.

I agree with Lillian. Since he’s gotten older, my bun will wake himself up by squeezing/honking and shake his head like he is sneezing every so often. My vet said some part of his throat is getting looser and it’s not good because he can’t breathe when he does that, but there is nothing we can do. If it were me, I’d take your bun to the vet just to make sure everything is ok. If the vet says everything is good, I wouldn’t worry too much.bmy bun has been doing this for years and nothing has gotten worse and he’s fine otherwise.
