Does anyone know if it’s hardy hibiscus (big flowers, perennial in cooler climates) or tropical hibiscus that are given as treats? Or can either be given? The flowers look similar, though the hardy hibiscus flowers are much larger.

         Thanks!

I think both but I’m not 100% sure.

Hmm… I’d guess both as well. I don’t think they’d be much different-I think all hibiscus is edible.

Hibiscus is a common name, not a botanical one, they are separate species. I think it’s only the tropical hibiscus, but not totally sure.

So, I looked it up. Though they are different species, they seem to all be the same genus. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hibiscus
