So I’ve been on the BB forum for a about a month now but just noticed i never took the time to introduce myself and my buns

I have owned rabbits for 12 years now. I recently just adopted a rabbit from my local SPCA. He is a male agouti dwarf mix named Tucker. He was adopted out once before but the owners brought him back, so I figured I would give him a forever home. Plus he got along really well with my female rabbit, lol. He’s still a bit timid with pets and such, but man does he sure get excited when its time for pellets at night

My first, and oldest rabbit is named Brown Sugar. She is a 12 year old agouti mini rex mix, bought from a pet store. She is seriously like my child and I will be devastated when it is her time to leave this world. She’s definitely mellowed out as she’s gotten older. Although she still very much appreciates pets, food, and getting out of her x-pen to play at night.

My second rabbit, Lulu, who passed the rainbow bridge in 2013, was a broken black mini lop bought from a pet store. She was always a very chilled out rabbit. She tolerated being picked up more so than Brown Sugar, although she never gave bunny kisses. We found out when she was 5 that she had developed kidney failure. Everything started to snowball after that. We decided it was time to put her to sleep and end all her suffering. I still very much miss her and wish I could of done more to help her get better.

I have decided that I will now only adopt rabbits instead of supporting pet stores and breeders. Tucker is my first rescue and will definitely not be my last. I’m sure in a year or so I will be going back to find a girlfriend for him. Although my 12 year old seems to be getting along with such a young bun just fine for now, but her being so old, she obviously won’t be around as long as Tucker will. Either way its an excuse to go give another rabbit a second chance at life!

Anyways, if you read this whole wall of text Thank You!

          Hi

Hope to see some pics too, and I’m the same as you, I will only adopt rescues from now on.

I’ve just been adopted by two dwarf/part dwarf rescue girls, so its nice to see another dwarf bunny adopter  its my first time with dwarf bunnies, up to now its been lops, but these two chose me, so I accepted. I’ll look forward to hearing how Tucker settles in!

Welcome! I would love to see pictures of your bunnies! Glad you’ve decided to support shelters.
