Spring was our first pet we got when we moved back to our state 8 years ago. She was a shelter rescue, an adult cat who was a couple years old when we adopted her. She had many issues, only being able to digest certain foods, extremely allergic to most flea medications, and fleas. So she was pretty much a special needs cat. But she was the friendliest cat you would EVER meet. She would allow my young nephew to hug her for hours on end, giving her kisses and carrying her around the house when they came to visit.

Recently I had noticed her losing a little weight but I hadn’t paid too much attention, she was always a bit of a chunky cat. Thursday she vomited up her food, although it wasn’t horrible out of the norm (keep in mind her very sensitive stomach) I kept an eye on her but she seemed otherwise okay. Friday we couldn’t find her that day and though she might have escaped outside, because she often loved sun bathing in the warm grass and chasing after insects. But by that evening I had a nagging in me that something was not right. But we found her a few hours later on the windowsill so I let it be. Saturday morning (yesterday) my dad found her in the kitchen lying by the dog bowl meowing. When we fed her and watered her and she wouldn’t eat it I knew something was wrong. She was force fed and watered all day yesterday and then we rushed her to the Emergency vet at about 7:30 AM and stayed there most of the day. All they could find was that she was badly dehydrated and had lost weight. They gave her some fluids and sent us home with a force feeding/watering plan. It was going good until this evening and she had even started to perk up. Then she started meowing when we tried to feed her and I knew that was where to draw the line. She couldn’t handle the feedings any more, so I decided to stop and see if she would try to eat on her own, although we kinda knew her time was coming.

*Faint of heart skip this next part*

At 9:44 she let out a moan type meow/wail and had a seizure and then died.

        *Okay you can continue*

My sweet cat was taken away from me 8/9/15 at 9:44 PM. She has taught me so many lessons that I will never forget or take for granted. And I am forever grateful of the time she blessed my life.

        Dear Spring,

I’m going to miss you so much. It’s still hard to accept you have left me. I feel like a failure to you in some ways. But I just hope you know how much I love you. I pray that you will get to chase after the most beautiful butterflies, and sun bathe in a golden sun feeling the warm grass press against you. I pray that you will fly like a bird that was once caged, with your new wings that I’m sure are just as gorgeous as you were! Good bye and I love you to the moon and back.

Say hi to Sky for me,

        XOXO

Moxie, I’m so sorry. It’s always hard losing a pet, but it always seems to be more difficult when it’s one you grew up with ?

                      I’m so sorry for your loss, Moxie. Spring sounds to be such a beautiful little soul. ;_;
I have tears in my eyes right now for you. I have lost a dearly beloved kitty in the past much the same way. It’s so incredibly heartbreaking.
Sending comforting hugs and vibes your way.

Run free, Spring. A precious new angel at the Rainbow. xx

My dog now has Colitis. The vets think it is from stress, so I don’t know if it might be because of the loss of Spring or not? My dog is now on a strict boiled rice and chicken diet for the next 4 days. *Sigh* When it rains it pours I guess.

This has been a very stressful time for my family and I. I thank you all for your kind words.

Spring was a great cat, a loving soul. She was always so patient and just wanted to be loved and touched constantly. Her drive to please people helped her to even learn how to sit! Whenever we had a treat we could just say sit and she would. She was very smart, and when my young nephew was sick one time, she slept right next to his head grooming his hair.
Which reminds me of how my dog would sit with Spring for hours grooming her. They had a unique bond.

I always kinda knew that Spring was going to be the next pet to cross the Rainbow bridge, but to have it really happen is so much harder than you think it would ever be.

Moxie, I’m so sorry… I know how hard it is to lose a special one… and it’s even harder when your other animals shared that bond.
We had a pure-bred cocker-spaniel that had been slowly going nuts for years but had a special bond with our senior kitty at the time. Once he was gone, so was our ability to care for the spaniel. On another occasion, we had a cat that lost his sisters after 12+ years and he became very clingy from then on (he was always friendly before, but there’s a difference).

I’m not always good at finding the right words; but I just wanted to let you know that I understand, and to let you know I’m here if you ever need to talk about her.
                              *hugs*

Spring will always know how much you love her.
