hey guys, Im the new to the forum and Im not sure if this is how you make a post but if it isnt someone please help me. I have a holland lop whos an year old and today I found a grey insect living under her eye. At first I thought it was a growth on her skin but it has red legs and its kinda wiggling. She freaks out every time I touch it and she generally does not like to be picked up, Can anyone help me identify this and how to get rid of it, thank you so much!

It sounds like it could be a tick. It should be pulled out with a pair of tweezers. It’s best if you can get someone to hold the bunny in their lap while you remove the tick.
Can you get a picture of the insect where it is?

I’m going to move this to the Q&A section – it belongs there.

I would suggest that if you don’t know what it could be and aren’t comfortable poking around the eye area that you have a vet look and remove this – it does sound like it could be a tick and they can be difficult critters to remove…it’s just speculation that is what it is, but the sooner you have a vet look the better.
