Hi am getting my first bunny as soon as an shelter near my gets a bunny! I am super excited she or he will be an indoor rabbit and get lots of love and care. In the house we have several other pets including a 3 dogs (Boston, westie and a Yorkie/ jack Russell mix) we also have 3 cats who I am not really worried about them. I am most worried about the westie and Yorkie mix my plan is to gate of my room and to protect my new friend I will also add a sheet to the top x pen as a cover. Is this a good idea? Do you have any other ideas? Thanks.

I’m super excited for you! Adopting a bunny is such a rewarding feeling, you feel like you’re saving each other. I think both the gate and covering the x pen to assure no jumping out (if its over 32 inches and has nothing for her/him to jump on inside of it I wouldn’t worry, but) are good precautions. How were you planning to go about giving the bunny exercise space/dog proofing your bunny’s exercise space?

For the bunny exercise space my family just moved into a new house 3 weeks ago with a huge backyard and screened in porch the new bunny will have free range time in my room where the x pen. The good news is that the dogs don’t live in my room and one cat stays in mine, sometimes the westie or the Boston will wonder into my room. T
