        Hello everyone,

So was just after some advice. I have two boy bunnies, a lop and a Netherland dwarf, both are around 6 months old. We have tried to introduce them to each other slowly, in the garden with mesh separating the two and they seem to get along well when separated but can see each other. Yesterday, we tried to remove the separator and introduce them. They seemed ok at first, but after a few minutes of chasing, there was some serious humping and fur pulling from the lop. We separated them as I did not want the netherland dwarf getting hurt! Since then we’ve had them out together but separated and they seemed fine again. I’m now anxious to introduce them to each other again as I didn’t want either of them getting hurt. How normal is humping and fur pulling? From what I have read this is a dominance thing, but it’s hard to let them do it without wanting to separate them. They are both un-neutered so I’m hoping once this is done it’ll be easier for them to get along but am I then leaving it too late to bond them? Any advice would be great! Thanks

I would discourage you from trying to bond them until they are both neutered and at least a month has gone by. The best thing is if you can keep them separated until then so they don’t develop ill feelings against each other, that way the chances of a good bonding are much higher.

They’d still have to be separated in conjunction with the neuter, so it’s no much use to try and bond them before that, plus there is risk of serious injury if they get into a fight, and male, unneutered bunnies will get into a fight sooner or later.
