Ava’s been practically maniac today building a nest out of her litterbox. She’s been running back and forth all day, grabbing hay, paper towels, even the blanket off her bed.I tried to remove anything she could use for nesting, but I can’t take away her litter box and hay. She’s also started pulling out her fur. There’s no chance she’s pregnant, so I’m thinking this is a false pregnancy. Should I be trying to discourage her in some way or just wait until she’s lost interest? I know spaying is the ultimate answer to this problem, but because of her health and weight, she wasn’t fit for a spay. The vet needs to give her another check and give the green light before she can be spayed. So for now I get to learn what crazy rabbit hormones are like.

Let her have her nest. Removing it will likely cause distress. Wait until she loses interest and then disassemble it.

It’s been a few days, how is she now?
