I noticed my new boy doesn’t really eat or drink much. I have given him a bowl and he seems to prefer that.

However … I wonder if I am just being paranoid. Tenzin does drink a lot for a rabbit, and he is only 6 months old. My new boy is 2 years old He only eats half as much of the pellets, he drinks very little, I haven’t even seen him touch the hay.

He is still new here and it took Tenzin a while to get his appetite up ( at least with hay) so I am also waiting.

Is there any reason I should worry right now? Could it just be breed and age differences? His poops are smaller and drier looking.

I would think that most of it is probably the stress of coming to a new home. As long as he’s eating something, I wouldn’t be too worried yet.

It’s also worth noting that adults eat (or should eat) fewer pellets than a growing bunny. Do you know how much he weighs?

When I called the other vet about his neuter they said he was 3 1/2 lbs at that time.

I cut Tenzin back to 1/4 cup a few weeks ago when he wouldn’t eat hay, the new guy is greed the sane amount but only eats half.

Are you feeding Oxbow adult to your new boy? My boys get 1/4 a cup to share. They are 3.5 and 4.5 lbs.

I am switching both boys over to oxbow adult currently. The new guy was on some tractor supply food that had loose corn in it O.o
