So Basil just had a small sneezing fit and snot rocketed iut of her nose. Its a very pale yellow almost clear, but definitely a bit yellow. Shes sneezes sometimes but has never rocketed snot. The only thing i canthink of thats different is that we just put an AC in the living room/ her room so now its cooler in her there in a more regular basis. Maybe it makes the air drier? Idk should i be worried?
        thanks so much in advance!

If she has nasal discharge, I would definitely get her to a vet for a check-up to rule out any bacterial infections. Typically, this means a dose of antibiotics for 10 days. The longer you wait for vet care in rabbits, the more expensive your bill! So I would get her there ASAP to be safe!

Indeed, if she’s got discharge, have a vet look at her. They’ll examine her nose and maybe do a culture to see if she has an infection. If you saved the snot, could show it to the vet.

Rocket snot is better then stuck snot, IMHO. Lol
Her being able to expel it is better then it staying in the nasal tract where bacteria can breed in it.

If she sneezes now and then, she may have a mild irritation that got exacerbated for some reason. It could well be the drier air. (Buns with resp problems seem to do better with humidity) or it could be the ac circulated dust around. Or batch of hay is dusty?

Actually mentioning the hay we are coming to the end of her bag and it is a bit dusty at the bottom. And yes rocket snot is better than stuck snot. Lol

Went to the vet yesterday before work, and she told us it was basically a 50 dollar sneeze. She said since she’s been acting normal since its likely nothing. So 50 dollars to tell me everything is alright, im glad everything is alright though

I have done that before as well — I always worry about discharge though! I have waited a few days and regretted it so I always think the best option is to rule everything out quickly! My one ended up with URI problems for like a year. Back and forth. Different vets…..

Turned out it was his litter. Talk about sucky.
